The
suspension bestowed by the Ombudsman has been ended and he will go back in PNP.
Not as a PNP Chief, but as an ordinary police officer. PNP Deputy Director Gen.
Leonardo Espina confirmed that Purisima is still in service despite the fact
the he resigned being a PNP Chief after he involved in Mamasapano mission.
Gen.
Espina said as a four star general, Purisima will still get a salary with an
amount of P117,000. He will back in PNP on June 10. In Wednsday, he will proceed to PNP Personnel Holding and Administrative Unit in Camp Crame
for accounting purposes.
Espina
also said as of now, he don’t know what would be the assignment of Purisima in
PNP. He still waiting for the go signal from Department of the Interior and
Local Government or from President Benigno Aquino III.
According
to Espina, Purisima can still get his benefirs in his retirement on November
this year. He will also get his monthly pension which has an 90 % equivalent
from his salary. But it still depends upon the decision of the Office of the
Ombudsman regarding to his graft case and to the result of the investigation of
Mamasapano incident where 44 SAF members had been killed. Based to the
testimony of former SAF Chief Getulio Napenas he was the one who ordered them
to conduct that mission.
