Many people admired of Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, not because of he is a former actor and he was linked to Kris Aquino. But he became a talk of the town nowadays because he slapped the face of a Chinese drug dealer they caught after he lost his temper. Other people treated him as a ne w macho man! Before this Mayor Bautista was bullied by the suspect. While he was interviewed by the media; the suspect sneaked suddenly in the window and posed with him and smiled like an insane. At first, the mayor didn’t not showed first that he was angry with the attitude of the suspect. Instead, he appeared to the suspect. Then, he interrogated the suspect but it didn’t answer to his question because it didn’t understand English. Out of frustration Mayor Bautista slapped the face of the drug the Chinese National.
But the Commission on Human Rights
is not happy with Mayor Bautista’s action. CHR Commissioner Eta Rosales that
what Mayor Bautista did was against to the human rights of the victim. The
nitizens bashed Mrs. Rosales; they said that she was overacting. Instead to condemn the criminals, the
commissioner is always with their sides acting like she is their attorney. But
Mayor Bautista already asked an apology to the CHR and to the public. He said
that it was not his attitude to hurt any people. It was due of the outburst of
his emotion because the suspect didn’t respect the authorities. He only wants
to show that we have a law here in the Philippines that he needs to obey. He
also said that he assumed that the suspect might hurt him when it was reached
him.
Majority of the Filipino people
understands Mayor Herbert Bautista. It was just a minor offense compared to the
crime of the Chinese National who had 10 kilos of shabu and it has an estimated
worth of 1 million pesos. If there is a Filipino carries illegal drugs in China
and get caught, they could be killed through lethal injection. But in our
country, there is no death penalty. It is sad to think that we will deport the
foreign criminals. So, the public and Mayor Bautista is appealing to the
Congress that they should bring back the death penalty, even in the drug case.
The drug dealers are devastating the lives of the youth and because of drugs,
many crimes have been committed. Mayor Bautista said that 50 percent of crimes
of the inmates in Quezon City Jail are drugs related.
What if Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is in
the shoe of Mayor Bautista, what he would with the drug dealer? Maybe he will
not just slap his face…
