President Aquino has been issued Proclamation 936 which declared that Jan. 15, 16 and 19 are special non-working holiday . This is both government and private offices due to the visiting of Pope Francis in our country.
The
Palace clarified that the memorandum is applicable only in Metro Manila; not in
the whole Philippines. They do this to lessen traffic and to give a chance the
members of the Catholic Church to attend in the activities of the pope while he
stays in Metro Manila.
The
Pope will be conducted a mass in Manila Cathedral, Quirino Grandstand. Aside
from this, the Pope will go to the University of Sto. Tomas in Espana, Manila. He
has also a plan to visit in Tacloban to personally give inspiration and moral
support the Yolanda survivors.
